Fall Bookings!

Just a quick note as fall dates are starting to book up.

If you are interested in having a portrait session done mid-September through the holidays, please call to get on the schedule. I will open additional weekday dates to accommodate the requests. Beginning October 1st, the weekend session fee will also go up to $125, the same as a weekday session. If you have already scheduled, you are booked at the current rate.

Fall portraits can be used for your 2008 Holiday cards too. I hope to have the gallery of cards up by the end of August.

Commercial Headshots-With lots of Personality

Sometimes I wonder if I have an identity crisis or that I just like to take on new challenges, a bit too often.  Because, in addition to children's portraiture, I shoot weddings and I also do some commercial work. I have to admit, I do love new challenges!

Recently, I was lucky enough to work with a production company that asked for fun, personality driven head-shots. Back in my tv days, we used them, Media Source TV,  for news content. Now I am producing something for them... Kind of funny how things come full circle.

Anyways, I just wanted to share some images from the shoot. I think it says a lot about a company that is willing to show its fun side too!

Who wouldn't want to work here?

Oh and I have to mention the make-up artist/stylist, Tim Maurer, he was amazing. I'd look over and he'd go from applying make-up one moment to coiffing a new hair cut the next. Check out his place Mukha Spa.

Sweet three month old

Oh gosh, I have been away from the blog all week! I am slowly digging my way out of weddings, commercial shoots, a down computer and the craziness of what comes with two small children home for the summer.  I am not so sure I have done this all very gracefully, but finally, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today's session reminded me though why I do juggle everything in my life. Partly because his spikey soft hair reminds me of the sweetness of my first baby...  The the way his face would light up when his mom came near. And, the amazing innocence of him sleeping so softly in his parents' arms. Pure magic. Taking photographs is a privilege for me, not just a job. And to be able to come into your lives and document the moments, the smiles and the laughter....well, that is who I am, what I am about and the gift I want to give to all of you.

So without further ado... Let me introduce lil big M to you. I met his parents about a year ago when I photographed their first babies, the four-legged kind :) Thanks E and P for letting me talk your ears off today.

Super Chunk!

Finally, a baby as cute and as chunk-a-licious as my own!  One-year old "A"  has these amaing bright blue eyes that just sparkle. I bet he is the envy of all who see him!  As if that were't enough, his big brother is as equally stunnng too!  Mom's going to have to lock them up to keep the girls away in a few years!

What a treat for me that their mom and grandmother drove down from Marion for the photo session.

We had fun despite the heat, lost car keys and some cake clean-up (which big brother as more than happy to eat the leftovers)!

All smiles

Talk about pressure. Walking into this family's home you'll see photo after photo of beautiful smiles from their little boy. Not a bad photo anywhere to be seen. Most of you readers know I love a good smile too, but sometimes they are hard to come by when photographing toddlers. I did question myself for a few minutes if I would live up to this challenge?

Little did I know this three-year-old is a total ham!

See for yourself :)

Magic

Bubble magic! Doesn't it look like Miss E waved them right out of her hand?

You may recognize Miss E from the main website galleries, her "look" is so classic, such amazing beauty for a toddler. I have been capturing this since she was a newborn. Meeting up with her this time is like someone waved a magic wand and POOF she has been transformed into this amazing toddler. Seeing these changes is one of the best parts of having returning clients. Thanks J and B for sticking with me :)

Here's a quick sneak peak, I think we got some great variety for a hot summer day.

Back with a beauty to share!

Computer is  fixed and I am ready to roll... So expect some new sessions to pop up on here the next few days.

In the meantime, you may recognize this little one as we are documenting her each month up to her first birthday.  I couldn't decide which has more impact the color or black and white so you all get to see both.

A gorgeous family on a beautiful day...

... at Cox Arboretuem in Dayton. Defintely a session well worth the hour and a half drive.

Three kids (I will call them the "3 M's") all 5 and under. Wow. I am not sure where these parents get the energy, but they definitely shine around the 3 M's.  And all their positive energy is contagious because I was having so much fun too, I way overshot their session! It is going to take me forever to sort through the photos.

Hence, a rather large showcase of the 3 M's and their family.

Ok ok, I should stop here. If I don't, there won't be any surprises.

Well... just one more with Grandma and lil M... Afterall she was the one who got us all together. Thanks D!

Another sweet newborn session tonight. Honestly, I never tire of this age. Each lil one is so different-from their expressions to their temperments. There really isn't anything much better than holding something so brand new.

But the best part of photographing newborns is....

... I get to go home and sleep through the night!   :)  Just kidding! My two year old likes to come visit us around 2am, ugh.

Lil Miss "L" though was a treat to photograph. Slept for the longest time giving us some baby smiles along with some very serene gestures. Grandma was there and I have to say I would love to have her as my assistant-she was a huge help to me and I know she will be too for the mom and dad!

So here's lil Miss "L's" sneak peak"!

4 pounds of fluff!

This lil guy may be the smallest newborn I have ever photographed. He is two weeks old now... came about five weeks early. And can you believe he didn't need any extended stay in the hospital? Healthy as can be! I am so glad his mommy stopped by for a visit. I have been dying to meet him!

Just a few photos-We will do his official session soon.  :)

A very windy wedding and a tornado watch.

I had lots of funny titles going for this post last night. But to be honest, once the weather blew through it was a beautiful evening providing the perfect ambiance for the new bride and groom. And amazingly, despite the tornado watch, the palm trees falling over, the decorations flying out onto the golf green, the flowers blowing off the cake and oh, the power going out at the clubhouse with no back-up generators to keep the food warm for several hours- the bride remained calm and took it all with the perfect grace.  What a great story this couple will have to pass on to their children someday.

But wait, let me go back a bit to the beginning which started off as a gorgeous puffy cloud day at The New Albany Links Golf Club.

The wedding theme was tropical with really unique flowers and table decorations made by the bride's talented mother and some by the bride herself.

Of course I had fun using some of the decorations for the ring shots...

The wedding continued on and as you can see, it didn't spoil the festivities.

I really feel honored to have had a small role in this event. The couple and their guest were wonderful to be around and you could just feel the love and friendship in the air.

Wishing a happy every after to this bride and groom!

And a few more pics if you aren't too tired to look :)

Tea with Teddy

Turning two is such a special time -and it is even more special when shared with a bear-y special friend.

Miss H is a photgrapher's dream to photograph. I know her parents were a bit worried how this session would turn out. But honestly, after the first five images I took, I could have been done. She was that good for us!

And  I really do love this age. Toddlers can go from pure intensity to pure joy so easily. Proof 5701 BW

Fundraiser for Sharp and Engle families this weekend

(please scroll down for recent sessions)

Many of you know about the tragedy that took took the life of Scioto Darby Elementary School's crossing guard, Dianna Sharp and injured 8-year-old Christian Engle.

Well some wonderful and generous classmates have gotten together an created this incredible Carnival fundraiser for both families. And it's happening this weekend.

Click here for more information about the carnival. They are even raffling off a Wii Family entertainment system. Lots of great prizes and fun to be had.

Plus, you can win a session from me that includes a handful of prints.
